OUR VISION STATEMENT
We aim to provide an approachable and supportive point of contact for parents, carers and professionals from health care, social care and educational settings. Our website will offer: clarity around what Play Therapy is; the benefits of Play Therapy; when Play Therapy might not be appropriate for a child and the training and qualifications necessary to become a professionally recognised Play Therapist. In addition, our website will provide information and contact details for each of the two CPTA Team members: each Team member is committed to responding to individual questions, concerns or general referral enquiries, on a no obligation basis - for free.
In addition, we have added education, communication and connection services for certified play therapists.
EDUCATION - COMMUNICATION - CONNECTION
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
We are a united team of professionally qualified Play Therapists, who have come together voluntarily, to offer education and advice about how Play Therapy can support the mental health and well-being of children across Cornwall.
HISTORY and CURRENT SERVICES
-
The Cornwall Play Therapy Associates (CPTA) team started with five Certified Play Therapists, with university accredited post graduate degree qualifications, who were passionate about promoting and ensuring Professional Play Therapy services in Cornwall. They set up the website and initiated education through publications and attending conferences. An ongoing team of three, added education, connection and communication services for certified play therapists, by adding, in agreement, certified play therapists to the website, a closed peer group, via social media, peer practice support events and guest speaker CPD events. The current CPTA team continues maintaining and developing these services.

CPTA team members have completed university accredited Post-Graduate Ply Therapy training having already obtained a university degree. The team has professional experience with Children's Services , the Education Service and various organisations offering counselling and play therapy.
